Our Consultants will perform a diagnostic ultrasound to examine the vein anatomy and identify the underlying problems.

This is a painless, non-invasive test using a hand-held probe and colour duplex imaging.  Varicose veins can recur after previous treatment and in this case, the anatomy is often very complicated.  The Consultants will also examine the deep veins to ensure they are open and identify whether there is any evidence of valve failure.
